My husband is not so much into cuff links because of the nature of his business that he does not wear suites as much. The person that I know that owns and collect cuff links is my brother, one reason is his job that he needs to wear suites and formal on business meetings, he lives in the Mainland US. Once I gave him a collector's case for his collections, if I happen to see a cuff link design that he might like I buy it for him, he always appreciate it according to him I always find something unusual.

Pearl Harbor Bike Trail

The inserted photos where taken at the Waipahu side. My estimate is about 8-10 miles from start to finish. I only did 8 miles including the back and forth from where I've park which is about 2 miles from the finish line. My next goal is to do the start to finish, I never knew that walking is addicting but I'm having problem sleeping, maybe because I'm tired or my Endorphin level is high. Even I have been experiencing the Endorphin high which I became restless on bed this will not stop me from walking and hiking. I am looking forward to Hike with my Girl Friends and from then we might have a once a month hike to different trails in Oahu. I know I love nature Hiking and Walking it's just that I married a man who does not love it as much as I do, but thanks to some friends who love Hiking.

My husband just got a new TV that we can network with my laptop and other electronics but the bad part is, it does not come with network cable so I did look online and order it. The moment we got it on the mail he wants me to connect everything which I did and it work so well and so convenient for us. I wish my husband is a little techie so I will be waiting for him to do the networking.

Log Cakes

On our up-coming wedding anniversary I want to make a log cake which will represent our 5th year and counting. I want to play with fondant cream cheese frosting will be perfect for this.
Since I really wanted to play with fondant, I might make a little round cakes for my husband's birthday. I want to make red velvet minis with fondant. Let see what will come to my mind and I will surely post some updates.

My sweet mother-in-law sent my husband a package two weeks ago. When he open it, it was a cheap campaign signs for his truck with his business name and contact number on it. She is so sweet that she wants to help us to get more business and we really appreciate it. I was thinking about it for awhile and suggested the idea to my husband but we are procrastinating that we always forgot to stop by the sign shop. But thanks to Mom and she us this from online.

Pumpkin Fudge Brownie

I promise myself that I will do good on working out and exercise so I did. I just wish that I will have more time to do it at least 3-4 times a week, too bad I'm working and I can only do it once or twice a week depending on my work schedule. I love working out in fact I was having fun this morning, after I did my running at the park, I did my walking by the shopping center and it was so fun that I don't want to go home. It was the longest walking I ever did that I don't want to stop. I am looking forward for more successful workouts. I am also looking for some workouts that I could do indoor for the days that I don't have enough time for long walks, maybe I will go back on dancing because it really work on me the last time I did it. The guilty part was, after all those sweats, I cave in and indulge to a fudge brownie, anyway it's 70 calories cause it's a pumpkin brownie.

I wish that everybody survive the Holidays. Well in my case, I did. As a wife I am in charge on gifts and you want to nail it or at least close to the perfect gift for a certain type of person. Tinsel Tree

For 2011 xmas, I put up my tree as early as first week of November. I twicked my tree twice and bought new ornaments (which is not a good idea) though I made a promise to myself that I will not buy as much ornaments this coming xmas, maybe a few ribbons will do :).
I made the tinsel tree on the right inspired by the picture on the left. I will make another one about 36" tall especially for my Radko ornaments that was given to me by a very nice lady friend from work. I will also make a tinsel tree for next xmas.
The story of me making the tree started when my friend show me her cute tree which is the one on the left made of artificial pine tree, really cute. I went around town's shopping stores and craft store but was no luck. Went online looking for the same thing but still no luck. After xmas I was shopping around for discounted xmas trims and hit the idea of making one. So I made one for me and was happy, though my next project will me more slender tinsel tree and a little bit taller. I will surely made some more to give to my friends for next xmas.

Jackets

My sister-in-law and her husband love to ride bike with her friends. Once a month they go interstate, they even went cross country one time when they were assigned overseas. She has all the gears like alpinestars jackets, most of her jackets are leather but she also have for cold weather. They will come visit us on June, I better be ready with my riding gears because she wants my husband and I to join them riding around the island. We are excited to see them.

The Xmas Trees

This are the images of my Xmas trees since I got married 07, I am so happy that I have most of the picture to make a collage but I am so sad because I think I lost the picture of my first 07 Xmas tree. I love the simple white Christmas theme of 2008, each year has it's own character. 2009 is simple as well, I like how I lay the balls in clusters.
2010 is a little bit messy and confused, we're just too busy wrapping the present for the kids, buts it's the most memorable Christmas of all since the family is complete with the grand kids.
2011 is quite and wonderful, a new beginning for us and I love my tree, I have two designs. The first one is with peppermint ribbon, I tweaked it with a new ribbon because I want to get the "granny smith apple" color from the ribbon and supposed to be "red and white" tree but it ended up looking so different and so overly decorated but I still love it. Next year will be another winter wonderland theme.

It will be place on top our island counter so it look like a spring basket. I love the way it look. I still keep our decoration on the minimal side but a little bit on elegant side.

My niece has a bad migraine, she seek help from different Doctor until one of them advice her to be a patient at Lubbock migraine centers. She is lucky because she live in Texas. Most of the migraine treatment centers are located in Texas but hopefully that they will have some facilities at different states to accommodate patients out of Texas. They have helped patients with migraine including my niece. She's been in treatment for a few months, she is happy with positive development.

On of my candy basket for a friend. This is actually for their kids, yes bad me, I'm trying to feed the kids candies. This is just a simple one I made trying to fit into my budget, I know the kids will love the candies that I have for them. I'm just hoping that this will not melt before they get it.
I handed this over last week during our Christmas party and told my friend "just a little something" for the kids and she was cracking up telling me the story about "Filipinos" saying "a little something" which actually means a lot LOL.

I always do compost year round and I own one very reliable composters. I also have compost pails that I use when I'm cooking to put the peel of veggies, easy way to make trips to the composter bin. I have enough compost to start my veggies garden on spring time. when I run out of compost I go to my friends ranch because she have a few composter bins that we keep working on one weekend a month for our garden.

If you work in sales or if you have a retail business, it is nice to own a reliable barcode scanner especially this busy Holiday season. Some of our scanners need to be upgraded because it freezes during the busy key days. We have long line and our scanners are not working after awhile, we ended up keying in the merchandise barcode manually which is not fun. We learned our lesson from last week’s big sale so we ordered new scanner for our store.

This is our simple Thanksgiving Feast because we are a small family, only 3 of us. I made 10 lbs turkey with sides of yum and green beans casserole. We ate heavy breakfast this morning, we did not eat lunch just snacking on junks waiting for the big dinner. We are all stuff now watching movie and will take a nap and will head to the mall at 11pm to shop. I don't know if it's a good idea. Happy Thanksgiving all.

It's about time for me to learn how to play guitar so I enrolled to a beginner guitar lessons. I remember that I love strumming the guitar when I was on middle school but due some reason I was not able to pursue learning it further. Since I will have time early next year, I made it a point to enroll myself and go from there. I love the way Santana play the guitar, I know it's a long way to play like him but I'm eager to learn the techniques to play like him.

The view from our new place facing "Diamond head", this is the first sunrise we had in our new place. I wish we are on a little more elevated area so I can capture good pictures of the ocean and view of Honolulu.
I love this new place so much and hoping that one day we could own a place at this side of the island overlooking Honolulu and the beautiful ocean. As my husband and I was talking, we never planned to move at this location in fact we are looking somewhere 2 miles below us but GOD planned us to be in this elevation. As we joke maybe he want us closer to HIM :) or it's the closest we could get to HIM.

Finally we found a place to move in; it's a 2 bedroom with office room apartment. We put a 6 months lease to the place and see from there because we are not certain if we stay on that place longer but if we decide then we could extend. I found the place using a very easy online search engine that will help you on looking for houses for rent, it so easy, all you need to do is fill out a simple form and will show you the choices close to the area you pick. It's pretty cool, it's a very helpful site to us especially we only have a week to find a place and move.

New Beginning

Finally we could move on with our life and start a new beginning. It's time to put an end to our past and start a fresh new life, I know that GOD has something more better things for us ahead. I feel so blessed that we found a Christian church and we are now studying the Bible. I love this church because they go by what the Bible is saying plain and simple and no complicated rituals. The church encourage me to read the Bible to find the Truth.
I am currently reading the book called "The Story", it is a summary of the Bible's famous story and I love it. I am now at the part of Jesus last days and was so amazed of what had happened 50 days after the Passover the "Kingdom of God" came and pour the Holy Spirit to about 3,000 people and from that they on they start Churches and fellowship and making disciples. What an amazing story of Jesus, it really move me and open my heart to the Divine Almighty and let him do what is best for us today and our future. Praise be to GOD.

Until now I cannot decide which DLSR camera I should get. I cannot decide which brand because different brand has different features. I have 3 brands in my mind, DLSR olympus cameras are pretty good as well and the features and pixels are also promising. Olympus Dlsr is really close to my heart, it's on my Christmas wish list taking the number one place. My mom used to tell me that her first camera was Olympus and until now she still trusts the brand.

It's so nice to take off from work and go around check out the wonderful scenery's in Hawaii. This is taken on the west side and famous surf site during winter time. During summer this site is famous for snorkeling, diving and boating, in fact you will see plenty tourist on commercial boats snorkeling and dolphin watching here. Spinner Dolphins are a year round company and so friendly showing off acrobatic dives to people. During September through April this is a good site for whale watching. So spectacular Hawaii!

This is part of the image of Honolulu from magic island. With its majestic towering buildings with a mountain backdrop or if your on the mountain side the backdrop will be the beautiful turquoise blue ocean. This lagoon on the picture is famous for wedding photos especially Japanese tourist. They come here to wed, while we were sitting here for 4 hours there's about 15 couple showed up for pictorial, what a big business.

Of all this things happening in our life, we still make it a little more fun than being sad. The rental is not ready yet and our stuff are all in the storage so we end up living in the old place like a camper. It's fun though because it's like survival day one.
We have few stuff and no cooking materials, but we still have our fridge here with food inside so for breakfast I made bacon, sausage and egg using a camping gas burner and a baking pan. We have few clothing in our luggage, so we feel like we're in a camping. But we hope that the rental will be ready as soon as possible so we could settle down.

Yes we are in tough situation but we always talk and see the bright side of it, what important things that we've learned from it and most of all we seek GOD.

While I post about switching from white rice to brown rice, a good friend of mine told me about "quinoa", since I just heard it from her, I never bother because I saw that the price at the store is too much for me for 5 lbs bag. Months had pass until we meet this couple who are practicing eating healthy food. They are not Vegan but they watch what they it, preferably gluten free. We had potlock and bible study at their house once a week and they have this cook grain that I cannot tell what it's called but it taste and smells good. She mixed in broccoli on cook quinoa, instead of 2 cups water to 1 cup quinoa she made it 3 cups of water to 1 cup of quinoa to make it more soft. She told me where to get it cheaper like in a bulk store. From then on we eat quinoa more than rice, though we still have rice once in a while.

Quinoa was of great nutritional importance in pre-Columbian Andean civilizations, secondary only to the potato, and was followed in importance by maize. In contemporary times, this crop has become highly appreciated for its nutritional value, as its protein content is very high (12%–18%). Unlike wheat or rice (which are low in lysine), and like oats, quinoa contains a balanced set of essential amino acids for humans, making it a complete protein source, unusual among plant foods. It is a good source of dietary fiber and phosphorus and is high in magnesium and iron. Quinoa is gluten-free and considered easy to digest. Fish Poke

My husband introduce me to "Poke Bowl" which mean rice and fresh fish, it sounds gross but it's really delicious. He always get it from Poke store where they usually put more rice than fish. I'm not scared of getting old but I don't really care so much about my birthday since I turned 25. My husband keep saying that when you get older time flew by so fast, yes he is right. I hate our water because it leaves calcium build-up on our toilet bowl which is hard to scrub, also on the shower heads and tub. I want to save money and stop buying bottled water to use in our coffee maker but our tap water creates build-ups on the machine. When I learned that Black Pearl was had arrived in Hawaii and it's close to our place, I asked my husband to check it out with me armed with my mini camera. I was so happy when I finally saw the beauty of "Black Pearl", I took pictures of it right away and was hoping to spot the cast. That was last year.
The harbor where they kept the black pearl is about a mile from the highway to our home, every time we passed by that area my sub-conscious mind always look and search for black pearl. Today I was so surprise that Black Pearl is still at the dock. I am planning for another trip to check it out soon.

I know what we have in the chest freezer but sometimes when you are looking for it you can't find it and when you stop looking it appears on your face. As I work in a retail company we always have this funny reasoning's and argument from sales people and customer. My co-worker shared this to us yesterday at the lunchroom and I can't stop laughing.
Scene:
China's are usually order, so customers come to the store look at the item and we order it and send it directly to their home. I admit that our warehouse does not pack the merchandise good especially fragile china's and crystals. When it arrive it comes with a receipt that has a 1-800 number where you can call them for replacements or complaints or returns. Usually china's comes to the customer in many pieces, I mean shattered, so here's the customer calling the 1-800 and they replace it. The replacement came in pieces so the customer called again and the agent told them to bring it to the nearest store for replacement. The customer told the agent "You guys should packed it good because it's so Fragile and the agents response was "We packed it good on the 3RD time you got it shattered!"
That's really a good one.

I am not expecting any package on the mail, good thing I heard the mail carrier's beep. She handed me a package which is for my husband. When he came home I gave it to him, he carefully open, it's a cuff links with his initials and it's from our daughter. No wonder she was asking me where she can get engravable cuff links, now I know where she got it from. She sent it along with a Thank You card, thanking her dad for being always there for her. My husband and I was invited by my friend to a Sushi Bar last night. It's five of us at "Sushi Masa", It's authentic Japanese Sushi bar, it's pricey because the seafood are fresh, handmade in front of you by chef Masa, I cannot compare it to Genki sushi or other cheap sushi place.
The Sushi are really tasty, the fish is really fresh and he will tell you how to eat it. He will tell you to just eat it with wasabi, no soy sauce and one bite. Don't order on the menu rather ask chef Masa for house special and he will prepare the finest quality of fish he has. I regret that I miss out the "uni"(sea urchin), the smoke salmon is really good, the "yellow tail" as well. I cannot believe that "aji"(skip jack tuna) is very good too also the "akule" (big eye scad) surprisingly delicious, so smooth and clean, no fishy smell. I really recommend this place to people who appreciate old school sushi preparation. Chef Masa entertained us with his humor and views of life. Five star for you Chef "Sushi MASA."

I though only bicycles needs bearing but I am so wrong because most of industrial machinery uses bearings on them including machines that process foods. Good thing they have this industrial bearings with food grade lubricant which meets USDA . Good bearing lesson that I learned online.

I am taking this powder vitamins that really helped me decide to be healthy and loose weight. All I did is stay away from carbohydrate. I did not totally turn my back off carbs but I limit my intake. I mixed white and brown rice and also I only make potato dish once a week or twice a month.
At work I always bring my homemade lunches because it way more healthy than buying fast foods. I also got me healthy portion microwavable meals from the bulk store like lean cuisine, whole wheat bread for my sandwich, I also got me lettuce and rotisserie chicken for my salad. We eat more fruits and veggies and I successfully lost 5 lbs and my goal is to loose 20 so 15 more to go. The key to this is discipline and stay away from carbohydrates and sweets because your body will process carbs into sugar that will create fats.

My husband has a job project, to build a garage for his client. They want a two car garage; they will use it as garage and also a working area for them. They want it to be safe for them especially for their elderly parents who also live with them. It does not mean when you know how to write a song you can be a singer! I know a person who is so proud that he had written 10 songs, he needs 2 more to compile a CD. Swing Set

We are having another grand baby from our only daughter, she will soon to have 3 kids. I told my husband that we need to give her a wooden swing set for the kids to play and entertain them after school. Alteration - New hobby

I found a new hobby, it's alteration. It started when I saw a beautiful plus size dress, I then went to the misses department and also at petites to hunt for it but to no luck. I bought the plus size dress and attempted a major alteration, sounds easy because what I need to do is trim the sleeve, saw 2-1/2 inches on each side and make the shoulder length fit me.
The plum dress fits me so well and I always get compliment every time I wear it. Since then I got hooked, I buy cheap big size dresses, blouses or cover-up shells and do my own alteration. Once I thought I should learn my lesson and buy a dress my size but I love the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment so I will continue to buy cheap plus sizes dress.
Note: cheap because I always go on clearance rack.

I'm an amateur photographer, I don't have any DLSR (although I'm considering on getting one pretty soon) what I have is a small digicam and just point and shoot. I love taking picture of interesting subjects. I don't have any formal training aside from what I randomly read online about photography. I can tell what's a potential piece and what's not base on my taste but I must admit that I don't have the artistic eye just plain "my own taste" and that's it.

On my next weekend off we are planning to head to the mountain ranch and do some wild pig hunting. My husband have a very nice hunting gun and he just got a new rifle scopes, so it would be fun to test it, let's see if we could get big catch. The ranch has a tower where we can see the surrounding mountains with a good vantage point to it. So we can test the rifle scope on top of the tower first and site the target.

This is also a place where you rent a stable for your horses. One day I want to hike on this mountains, it might be perfect for a beginner like me because it's not too high and dangerous. Home Theater speaker

We had dinner at a friend's house last night; I had so much fun with them, such a lovely and nice family. We also watch movie after dinner and it was fantastic, they have a movie theater with surround sound. The home theater speakers are awesome; it makes me feel that I am in a real theater. It was my first time at my husband's friend ranch last Sunday. I always miss going with him at the ranch because they usually hang out there when I'm working. We spend the father's they there and it means that I will always ask my husband to bring me there with him.
I had fun with the horses feeding them fresh grasses and petting them, they are so sweet and beautiful. I love the horses, I wish I could take care of them once in a while, while I'm visiting them.
I also harvested wild vegetable. My husband friend invited me to plant veggies there if I wanted too. The moment I hear it from my husband it put big smile on my face because that location is where the local farmers are, the soil is so rich for gardening and I'm looking forward on doing a garden on Sunday. I am now preparing the seeds that I need to plant. :)

We were a bit busy last week entertaining my MIL when she came to visit us. She is 74 years old, she can walk but a little bit slow. This is the picture I took of her and her old guy friend. They are not lovers but all of us agreed that the feeling is Mutual!
Me and my husband make sure that she will enjoy and relax on her vacation although we cannot just bring her to places that we think we enjoy. No long distance road trips (we're planning of heading North Shore but not a good idea for her) for her, no beach as well unless it's a shady park near the shore but absolutely no swimming for her. For the first time in my life and hopping that this will not happen again that I emailed a dispute complain to my bank of a small charges that appeared on my statement. It's not that much but I don't want it to happen again in the future, I hate making complaints unless it's necessary. I don't want to pass it because we never know that in the future they will be another charges and bigger than this one.
I also emailed a certain website the only info I have that was attached on the statement. I am still thinking about this charge if I did it or not but honestly I did not remember charging anything for the pass days. I wish they will get back to me and explain what it is.

This is what you see in a department store in South East Asia particularly Philippines, my homeland. Most off the people here are blinded by the show business where beauty and pale skin is famous and considered Beautiful.
I was once into the whitening product, my friends are also convincing me that white skin is better for me. In my mind that mentality is ridiculous, why don't we just love the color of the our skin and be happy about it.
Now that I'm here in the US which tan skinned is considered healthy looking that most people are paying more for tanning salons or endangering their health to skin cancer just to get suntan. I love my skin color, I love being naturally tan.

Ranger and ATV

We love outdoors so much, if you cannot find us boating, or camping at the beach sure you can find us off road playing with our Ranger and ATV. I love playing with Ranger than our boat, for out Polaris Ranger Accessories I always check online and pick from there, I get another set or two of lift kits.
I get seasick every time we go boating so I never really enjoy fishing. I only go with them boating if we go Sand Bar; it's a sticking sand island 3 miles away from Windward harbor. And we usually go there during summer season so during other season we love our ATV.

Ever since my first Reader's Digest, I make it a point that I will buy monthly issue, but money is a problem because for a poor girl the coast of 1 issue is just too much for me, I manage to save my allowance to buy me when I can.
Since I move in the US it's still my best choice and finally I subscribe on it, I'm frugal, I subscribe the deal price which is $10 for a year, I will only renew my subscription if they will give me the same deal or I will just buy a month-to-month issue from the store. I love Reader's Digest and that will never change.
